At Families and Beyond, we understand that every child is unique, and so are their developmental journeys. If you are concerned that your child may have a developmental delay or learning challenge, you have come to the right place. We are here to support you and your child with compassion, expertise, and a deep respect for their individuality.
As a CDA and DHA Licensed facility, Families and Beyond brings together a dedicated team of highly compassionate and supportive professionals focused on comprehensive assessment. We take the time to understand your child’s unique needs and challenges, using the latest evidence-based practices to identify the root causes of developmental or learning delays. With a team of experts by your side, you can trust that your child’s assessment will be thorough, holistic, and designed to help them move forward with confidence.
The Process
1. The Consultation
We begin with a parent consultation, either online or at our Centre, to determine if a comprehensive assessment is the right next step for your child. This initial meeting allows us to learn more about your concerns and provide guidance on how best to move forward.
2. The Assessment
If an assessment is appropriate, it will take place at our Centre. We understand this can feel like a big step, and we ensure that both you and your child feel fully prepared and supported throughout the process.
3. The Feedback
After the assessment, we will schedule a detailed feedback session to walk you through the results. During this appointment, we will share our insights and recommendations, and outline the next steps and therapy options if needed. Your journey doesn’t end here—we are committed to supporting you and your child every step of the way.

Through this consultation, we aim to gather a comprehensive understanding of your child’s unique strengths and challenges. It also allows us to build a collaborative relationship with you, ensuring that any assessment and subsequent recommendations are tailored to your child’s needs and your family’s goals.

What Happens After the Consultation?
Our educational psychologist will carefully review the information shared during the consultation and discuss with you whether it is appropriate to proceed with an assessment for your child. If an assessment is recommended, they will provide you with clear information about the process, expected timelines, and what to expect in the next stepsCost
